This role plays a key part in helping one of our enterprise clients strengthen and standardise their Linux platforms, reduce technical debt, and improve long-term operational stability. The Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer (Linux) is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising enterprise Linux infrastructure across a complex hybrid environment. The role focuses on infrastructure modernisation, automation, security, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities: Design, build, maintain, and optimise enterprise Linux infrastructure across hybrid environments. Develop and maintain automation using Bash scripting and Ansible while promoting Infrastructure-as-Code principles. Implement Linux system hardening aligned with recognised security frameworks, remediate vulnerabilities, and ensure infrastructure remains secure, compliant, and audit-ready. Work closely with networking, cloud, virtualisation, storage, and infrastructure teams. Produce clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and support documentation while delivering structured knowledge transfer sessions.

Minimum Requirements: Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5-8 years' experience in enterprise Linux infrastructure engineering. Extensive experience supporting Linux platforms within large-scale enterprise environments. Proven experience delivering infrastructure standardisation and modernisation projects. Experience implementing automation and configuration management solutions.

Note: This is a six-month fixed-term contract supporting a specific enterprise client engagement.
