Ben Viljoen Photography

Ben Viljoen Photography is a documentary wedding photographer who has been photographing weddings in South Africa and internationally since 2006. He is centrally based in Parys, started out in Johannesburg and continues to work there, and has spent years photographing in the bush, travelling for weddings from city venues and safari lodges to coastal settings and destinations abroad. The approach is observational rather than directed, with particular attention to the moments around the edges of a day when nobody is performing for the camera. The stated aim is a set of photographs that shows what a wedding day was actually like, with a few natural portraits alongside.
