Mica Hardware

Mica Hardware is one of the largest hardware franchises in sub-Saharan Africa, with more than 160 member owned stores nationwide and a head office in Johannesburg. Stores carry hardware, power tools, paint, garden and pool care, building supplies, bathroom fittings and DIY products, stocking brands including Bosch, Plascon, Dulux, Duram, Ryobi, Ingco, Lawnstar, Alcolin, Powafix, Gardena, Ellies and Yale. The group is built around a slogan promising to show customers how a job is done, and alongside its products it publishes DIY guidance for customers, runs monthly promotional leaflets and a newsletter, and offers franchising rights to prospective store owners. Because stores are individually owned, decisions on stock and service are made at store level.
