What the role involves
As an Armed Response Officer, you'll respond to alarm activations and emergency call-outs, conduct patrols, assess situations under pressure, and work closely with your team and control room to keep residents and businesses protected. You'll need to stay calm, think clearly, and act decisively, often in unpredictable conditions.
Requirements
Valid driver's license
Matric / Grade 12 (advantageous)
Valid PSIRA registration (certification and card)
Grades E, D, C and Armed Response
Valid SAPS Competency Certificate
Accredited firearm competency (handle and use of a handgun, handle and use of handgun for business purposes, knowledge of the Firearms Control Act)
Ability to work shifts, including weekends, Sundays and public holidays
Clear criminal record (mandatory in the private security sector)
Physically fit, with the stamina and agility needed for demanding response duties in varied conditions
6 to 12 months' experience as an Armed Response Officer (minimum)
